The Victims: Many. These people.

The Damage: £10 or thereabouts.

The Background: A week or so ago, I started seeing Tweets about a meetup of Twitterers set to occur on the 15th in Shoreditch. Having just really gotten into Twitter really, I thought it would be random to go along. Maybe get some tips on how to use Twitter now that they've stopped deliverying texts in Europe.

Alas, although I thought we'd all just stand around drinking beer and Twittering and trading tips about Tweets, we just stood around drinking cheep beer (£2 Spanish beers between 5 and 7 p.m.) and watching me get my ass kicked in foosball. (Sorry Lewis.) So no Twitter tips.

But I did get to hang out with Internet entrepreneurs Joel and Charles from Tipped.co.uk and their friends in from the U.S. From Tipped's Web site, "Tipped is an online community for people to share tips on all the great, and not so great, places in their local area." It's a little bit of a crowded space they're in, but their entrepreneurial spirit is admirable and you should check them out out online. Oh, and you should also go to their Chili Cook-off on October 25th at the Mucky Pup in Islington.

The Verdict: Twitter meet-ups are randomly engaging. But I was the only pure blogger there. (Mostly everyone else worked in social media.) Come on bloggers…

P.S. Don't forget…blog about Your Perfect Day in London by October 24th. I'll summarize all the blog posts for all to publish on their blogs as a traffic-building exercise…

Good Thursday morning Krista.

This isn’t about twitter, but…

Do you have a truly incredibly good place to recommend in London for roast beef with yorkshire pudding ?

And where would you go for the most excellent filet mignon in London ?

Please help…
Thank you 🙂

There will be more bloggers there next time I hope – and as for trading twit tips, I’m sure we can build it in at some point.

Brave Adventurer, for a good roast, I’d recommend two places:

The Marquess. In Islington. Review somewhere on my blog.

The Gunmakers Arms. In Clerkenwell. No review on my blog, but it’s run by a fellow blogger.

Filet mignon is an interesting one…for steak, my main suggestion would be Hawksmoor in Shoreditch. Review, again, somewhere on my blog!

Hi again Krista. Thank you 🙂

I used your food blog to try to find other reviews in additon to yours, because I love hearing everyone’s feedback.

Did you see what RWApple (an american in london) had to say about The Marquess ?
In the comments on her review, they have a new owner and a new chef as of July this year, and the old delicious favorites on the menu are gone… (sad face)

Will now check out The Gunmaker’s Arms ! And then Hawksmoor…

These blogs are so helpful. I’d be lost without them 🙂

Have a great evening, and thanlks again for the referrals !

Uh in my case the damage was considerably greater than £10, and I’m not talking about money…boy your twits can party.

Hiya

I know you didn’t ask me, but I’m a big fan of Hawksmoor, so thought I’d add my 2 pence. You can read mine and other reviews for it on Tipped – http://www.tipped.co.uk/listings/58301/hawksmoor
