Re: wearing gym clothes on a Sunday -- is that really that popular? I don't remember that being the case in NY or DC.

I miss having vented tumble dryers that are separate from your washing machine (as a standard London appliance). Come to think of it, a nice big refrigerator would be great as well.

Pizza by the slice (though admittedly lots of people in America lack this particular amenity outisde the NY/NJ area).

Costco.

Choice and pricing on shopping, generally.

Still, on the balance, London is the place for me!

I had to laugh at the washer/dryer point. I was explaining to my Spanish and Italian flatmates the other day what I missed about America and that was one of the biggies. They were completely mystified as to WHY I would miss a washer and dryer!

Not that I'm back in America, but I made a short list when I was in Christmas about the things I missed. Mainly:
- Free Wifi everywhere
- Taco Bell
- Cheap, good wine
- Free refills, in general
- Central heating

And yes, to the Cheerios. Long live the Yellow Box! My mom sent me some a couple weeks ago, and it was the best present I ever got.

I had to laugh at the fountain soda one. My UK-resident brother and my partner liek to go to Nando's Chicken in Pimlico for two reasons:

1. It's one of the few non-Indian places that is really spicy, and
2. They have a free-refill soda fountain.
