Just read this and chuckled. I lived at Star of Siam for years while living over in Streeterville . . . way back in our collective grad school days.

I always thought it too out of the way to merit foodie love, although it was a personal favorite of mine. Glad you liked it!

I’m looking to come back to the USA again and wondering where I should go. So, Chicago is high on my list 🙂

Love it!! Enjoy your stay!! I will dm you on Twitter. I love The Thompson. It is a really classy hotel. The James really isn’t bad though! It’s just that The Thompson is nicer. There are a ton of great hotels in Chicago so honestly, you could stay in lots of different places. But for the vibe…The Thompson!!

I read this with interest: Chicago’s always been on my list of Places To Go. I’m booked for NYC on 9th July and coming back from Boston on the 24th so managed to fit in another internal flight and will be in Chicago for a few days – can’t wait. Have just booked the Thompson today on your recommendation.

Man, hotels are expensive in the States :/
