I am in search of the best mobile phone for mobile blogging. I have a Sony Ericsson 960 cell phone. It’s great because it has a 3.2 megapixel camera phone. But I find the interface clunky in general, and particularly clunky for blogging my little London restaurant guide. (Although the size of the screen is very nice.) Am I an idiot not to have an iPhone?
Here’s what I want to be able to do…
- Take food and restaurant photos and post them directly to Typepad but without a whole lot of hassle. Does anyone know if you can post photos to Typepad as a draft post? Or do they have to go live instantaneously? Related, it would be nice if Typepad accepted incoming photos and posts from multiple email addresses. I use Gmail as my Typepad account, but how can I take a photo and then easily send it from Gmail? Same with writing a post and sending it easily to Typepad without necessarily having to log into Gmail and all that. Maybe I just need to RTFM. (Read-the-F***ing-Manual.)
- Launch Google without a whole lot of steps. The default Home on Sony seems to be Vodafone Live which is annoying.
- Write whole restaurant reviews without getting hand-cramp. Also, the auto-word feature on the Sony takes some getting used to.
- I want GPS.
- I want a camera with at least 3.2 mega pixels
What do you think? Have you found the perfect phone for mobile blogging? If so, what is it? Or do you have the Sony Ericsson 960 phone and are you using it successfully for mobile blogging? What am I missing? Should I switch to a phone that has Windows Mobile or the Palm OS? Should I just get an iPhone?
You know what would be cool? If a mobile phone company saw my post and sent me their newest phones to try out as blogging phones. A gal can hope!
