Nude

Nude Espresso
26 Hanbury St
London E1 6QR

Date of Last Visit: Sunday, November 2

The Victim: Me

The Damage: £2

The Background: I had some time to kill before heading over to Sarah's for some brainstorming and some dinner. So I decided to wander Brick Lane. Joel at Tipped tipped me off on Nude, a little coffee bar on Hanbury Street. So I made it my destination.

The Entrance: Nude feels Scandinavian. But everyone speaks Australian. So I order myself a flat white (decaf) and test them out.

It's a very good decaf flat white. I ask "Monmouth?" And the answer is yes. I love Monmouth decaf. (For those of you new to my blog, I gave up caffeine on May 17th, 2008 when I realized I had had at least six, if not seven, cups of coffee at work the previous day. Stupidly irresistable high-tech coffee machine.)

The Verdict: I like Nude. Next up, I'll try Flat White on Berwick Street.

Flat White is fabulous! I’m not just saying that because I’m an Aussie either (it’s owned by New Zealanders). Best coffee in Soho, no doubt about it!

Thanks for the Nude tip, will check it out next time I’m in that part of the world 🙂

OH – you’ve got to go to Flat White! It gets very busy but great coffee. I’ve heard about Nude but haven’t had a chance to go yet. I must add it to my list.

Flat White used to be my favourite coffee joint in London, but Nude now tops my list. Their coffee is fantastic and the food is superb. Good space too. I’m a kiwi and used to great coffee back home but hard to find that quality in London. Nude has now filled that gap for me. Nice work Nude!

What happened when you drank the 6/7 cups? I definitely cannot condone giving up caffeine, there’s just too much evidence supporting its use (miscarriages aside) – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine. What you might try is 2 cups in the morning and then really good tea the balance of the day. I’d suggest buying from somewhere like Tea Smith – http://www.tipped.co.uk/listings/135327/tea-smith.

has anyone ever been to St Albans, Hertfordshire. The station there has a great little coffee cart called Soko Coffee.

Their website is http://www.sokocoffee.co.uk.

If you like Nude, Flat White and Monmouth, you’ll love this!

Christie: Yes, definitely check out Nude.

Niamh: See one of my more recent posts!

Joel: I was drinking A LOT of coffee. It was time to stop. Now I do a lot of Crest Whitestrips.
