Covent Garden Night Market

by Krista

Covent_garden_night_market_1Date of Last Visit: Friday, August 15th

The Victims: Jen, Chris from Londonist, Niamh from Eat Like a Girl (and Trusted Places now too), Julia from A Slice of Cherry Pie, Ros from Living to Eat, Laura from Bitch Buzz, Walid from Trusted Places, and others that I didn’t get a chance to talk to. Plus Canadia Boy, Stacey, Feathers, Matt, Dave, Carrie, Kellie, James, Michelle and more…

The Background: It’s hard having an ethics policy AND being a food blogger. Because people want to give you things. Like the lovely PR folks behind the Covent Garden Night Market, who really wanted me (and my cousin and the rest of my pals) to enjoy ourselves at the Covent Garden Night Market.

Thanks to them, we enjoyed lots of oysters and bubbly from the McManus Brothers Oyster Bar.

And then we watched this guy carve up a pig.

We debated the goods at The Jewish Deli.Covent_garden_night_market_4

And we had a great old time watching this lady of a certain age DANCE like there was nobody watching.Covent_garden_night_market_3

The market is open in August on Thursdays from 4pm – 10pm and Fridays from 12pm – 9pm.

Get there early for the oysters. McManus went through over 700 (at least that’s what I think he said) by 8 p.m. or thereabouts. By the end of the evening, all they had left was champagne.

Now, back to your long weekend. And dancing like nobody’s watching. See you back here next week.

Cool post, have always been interested in trying traditional Jewish food. Am intrigued by the concept of a Matzah ball. Good to see there is somewhere in London that I could sample somethings.
