The Victim: Me

The Damage: £5

The Background: I was having a wander around East London on a Saturday, mainly because of my blog. You see…I am always pounding the pavement, looking for ways to entertain you, my dear reader.

I was actually looking for the new Swedish coffee shop on Brick Lane, Fika (which means coffee break in Swedish, by the way), but I am betting that it is north of Cheshire Street and I never made it past all the cute shops on Cheshire Street. Anyhow, this is a long way of me saying–I needed a warm drink, and Tea Smith was there.

The Verdict: I had a lovely white tea and a lovely plate of chocolate biscuits from William Crawley, who I guess is famous. I enjoyed myself, although I do wish I had had a book with me. A good place to stop while you're in Spitalfields.

Coming Soon…Abeno Too, La Trouvaille off of Oxford Street, Market in Camden.

The Swedish place is just North of Cheshire Street – been meaning to go for ages. Yummy’s on Cheshire Street is meant to do an amazing bacon sandwich too, if you are in the mood. It’s down near that bizarre shoe shop, the source of many of the East End’s fashionable cheap white plimsoles.

Malcolm: I love you. I’m serious. I am so happy you’ve stopped by. I love The LRB. I love bacon and beans too. But not the tomatoes or the mushrooms, really.

Eater’s Regret: It is nice. I just wish they had more seats. I’ve got to think that they make more money per square-foot at the tea bar then they do on the shop. Hmmm…I am thinking too much. AGAIN.

Why thank you Krista – you’re very kind. Intriguing that you’re not in the tomato or mushroom camp. Does that apply to lunch and dinner too?
