Firstly, you never saw this picture. Because I wasn’t allowed to take it. Secondly, if I should pass from this world, I want nothing but Laduree macaroons served at my wake.

Well, maybe I should pick a happier thought…

When I find the gentleman I’m going to spend the rest of my life with–applications are being accepted, by the way. Finicky eaters need not apply– everyone at the wedding will get a little box of Laduree macaroons. Surely the most delicious things ever. Along with the Yauatcha ones, of course

    I had a grumpy employee of the Whole Food supermarket diving down on me when I tried to take a photo of their lovely apples.

    As if they were a secret.

    As if you couldn’t conceal a camera in, say, …..a phone?

    Oooooh – I love love love Laduree’s macarons. Can’t say the same for Yauatcha’s though. I’m hoping to try Pierre Herme’s in Paris in a few months time!

    I second Su-Lin’s suggestion to visit Pierre Herme the next time you’re in Paris. [That said, when I was in Paris a few months ago, the line at the shop was too long so I skipped it.]

    Yauatcha are equally fascist to people wishing to take photos in their restaurant, judging by the treatment I saw given to some people sitting at a table close to me (and they were only trying to take pictures of each other, not even of the food!). Clearly the creation of world-class macaroons is on a par with uranium processing, in international secrecy terms.
