Japanese: Ah-So

Ah-So Japanese Teppanyaki
206 Upper Street
N1 1RQ
0207 704 1890

Img_2745Date of Last Visit: January 9th, according to my camera. (Sorry, still a lot of catching up to do.)

The Victims (And I really mean VICTIMS this time): Ben, Matt, John

The Damage: £30ish each?

The Verdict: I’ll pass. We got the boring chef. There was one little fire and one little "egg in the hat trick." I was disappointed in the show and the food. I suppose you will tell me I shouldn’t be surprised. But the problem is…I am a sucker for Benihana.

It was nice seeing food cooked in front of you, though.

Try Matsuri if you fancy teppanyakki. I went there for a farewell party and my friend was very pleased with the food and ‘performance’. :)

The other half and I went to Ah-so on Saturday, got hit by £40 (but we did have cocktails, sake, and a sushi starter).

We didn’t get the funny chef either, but ours did flick egg into our mouths and showed off a lot. Still, when we had the good chef at the table next to us screaming “ooh yeeeaaahhhh” after each trick we felt a like jumping tables!

Great quality food, good entertainment, a little steep when it comes to the price though. Probably better if you’re going with a larger group.
