I Love Columbia Road
Peter Bjorn and John – Young Folks
I love where I live. It’s a pleasant walk to Borough, and a not-too-long-not-too-short walk to Spitalfields, Brick Lane, and Columbia Road.
The problem with living where I live, however, is that it’s not so convenient for everyone else. (Or well, at least the everyone else that I know.) So despite my best efforts to rally the troops for a trip to Columbia Road the other Sunday, I wandered over alone.
But I can understand why no one would want to go to Columbia Road on a Sunday. Because there’s really nothing to see there. I mean, I suppose there are some flowers.
And I guess there are some cupcakes, and I know no one likes those.
Oh, and olives and cupcakes just DON’T mix.
And who wants to hear live music on a Sunday?
Or look at boring old antiques?
Yes, not a very exciting day, for sure.

Oi, must get m’self over there. I’m one of those who goes to Borough wanders around thrilled, tense, and confused without ending up buying anything. Perhaps a market where I don’t intended to buy (much) and just ogle will be more relaxing. Cheers, BB
